LATE WWII GERMAN K98K MAUSER RIFLE BY WAFFEN WERKE BYSTRICA, 1945 MFG., 8MM

This is an original, WWII German K98k Mauser Rifle produced at Waffen Werke Brunn AG, Bystrica ("dou" code) in 1945. This factory in Czechoslovakia produced rifles for the Wermacht after German occupation. This very late production rifle is a simplified Kriegsmodell, lacking the stock disc and cleaning rod. It has Czech markings on the receiver, indicating capture and use by the Czech government after the war. The rifle is in excellent condition with about 98% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is a hint of finish wear on the sight hood and muzzle. The butt plate is finished bright and has a light speckling of brown patina. The rifle has an excellent bore and perfect mechanics with a matching bolt. The laminated stock is very fine with a few small dings from use. This is an excellent example of K98k production at the end of the war. Stock no. 27504
