Item :	SUPERB GERMAN WWII MAUSER "KK-WEHRSPORTGEWEHR" .22 TRAINING RIFLE

Description :

This is an original WWII German Training Rifle manufactured by Mauser and chambered for the .22 long cartridge. The KKW or "Klein Kaliber Wehrsportgewehr" was adopted in 1939 and was loosely based on the Gewehr 98. Examples made just before and during the war were fitted with bayonet mounts. This allowed young Germans to train and become familiar with a rifle that was close to what they would carry as soldiers. This early war example has the bayonet mount and resembles a K98. It comes with its original sling, cleaning rod, and sight/muzzle protector. The rifle is in excellent condition with 98% of its original factory blued finish remaining. The front sight band has a bit of wear, probably from having a bayonet affixed. Otherwise there are just a couple of tiny dings in the finish from storage. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is excellent as well with just a tiny ding or two. All markings are crisp with a Mauser Banner on the receiver ring. The sling is very fine with soft, supple leather. The sight cover is excellent. This is a truly outstanding example of the KK-Wehrsportgewehr. Stock no. 27238
