SUPERB, PRE-WWII, GERMAN K98K MAUSER RIFLE, 1938 MFG.

This is an original German K98k Rifle manufactured by Mauser/Borsigwalde (S/243 code) in early 1938. It is chambered for the 7.92mm (8mm Mauser) cartridge. The K98k was the standard German battle rifle of WWII. This rifle is in excellent condition with about 98% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is a little finish wear on the trigger guard and magzine floor plate. The front sight band is turning a light brown. The butt plate, originally finished bright, has a speckled brown and steel patina. The rifle is all matching except the cleaning rod. The mechanics are excellent. The bore is excellent as well, bright and shiny. The laminated stock is also in excellent condition with crisp Waffenamt markings. This is a great early Mauser in exceptional condition.
