VERY FINE SWISS MODEL 1882 SCHMIDT ORDNANCE REVOLVER, 7.65X25MM

This is a Swiss Model 1882 Ordnance Revolver manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern (Weapons Factory Bern). It is chambered for the 7.65x25mm Swiss ordnance cartridge. Colonel Rudolf Schmidt developed this new revolver in 1882. While similar in appearance to the Nagant, it was probably closer in design to the French Chamelot-Delvigne M1873. These were popular with officers due to their light weight and low recoil. This revolver is in very fine to excellent condition with more than 95% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is a bit of light holster wear at the muzzle and some light wear on the edges of the butt cap. The hammer, trigger, loading gate, and ejection mechanism retain most of their light straw color. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The black plastic grips are very fine with one tiny ding on the right grip cap. The gun is all matching as well. This is choice example of the Swiss Model 1882 Revolver. Stock no. 26742
