Item :	1937 COLT OFFICER'S MODEL TARGET .38 REVOLVER, 3RD ISSUE

Description :

This is a Colt Officer's Model Target Revolver chambered for the .38 Special cartridge. The serial number on this revolver places it in the Official Police Revolver range and shows manufacture in 1937. The markings and grips are consistent with a gun of that era. This is a Third Issue Revolver. These were produced from 1927-1945. The revolver has a 6 inch, heavy tapered barrel. The last patent date on the barrel is Oct. 5, 1926. The grips are checkered walnut with Rampant Colt medallions. The back strap is checkered as well. This revolver is in very fine condition. More than 95% of the factory blued finish remains, with just very light holster wear at the muzzle and on the high points of the gun. There are several very tiny speckles of corrosion on the right side of the frame. The bore, chambers, and mechanics are all excellent. The grips are very fine with just a couple of tiny dings from use or storage. This is a great example of the Colt Officer's Model target Revolver. Stock no. 24266
