Item No.: 9026 Price : SOLD
Item : POST-WWI, MAUSER "BOLO" C-96 BROOMHANDLE PISTOL
Description :
Here is an original, Mauser Model 1921 Bolo C-96 Broomhandle Pistol chambered for the 7.63mm Mauser cartridge. Produced from 1921 until 1930, the Bolo Mauser was made to be compliant with the laws of the Weimar Republic. The Weimars banned the ownership of miitary style arms in attempt to recover arms taken home by WWI veterans. The bolo featured smaller grips and a shorter barrel. It quickly became popular, as the smaller size made it much more concealable. The pistol was a favorite of the Bolsheviks of the fledgling Soviet Union, who purchased thousands in the 1920's. The pistol became strongly associated with the Bolsheviks, which is how it gained the "Bolo" nickname. This pistol is in very fine condition. It retains about 95% of its original factory blued finish, having some light finish wear on the high points of the gun. The pistol has excellent mechanics and a very fine bore. The grips are in excellent condition. The pistol is all matching including the grips. The incuded holster is very well made and has the Mauser Banner on the back, but I am certain it is a reproduction. It is in excellent condition. This is a beautiful example of the Bolo Mauser pistol. Stock no. 24206
