FINE, U.S. MK.I TRENCH KNIFE BY L.F. & C. W/ SCABBARD

Description :
Here is an original, U.S. Mk.I Trench Knife made in 1918 by Landers, Frary, & Clark. It is in its correct scabbard, also made by L.F. & C. The American made examples of this knife arrived overseas too late to see use with the Doughboys of the American Expeditionary Force and were put into storage. They were issued extensively in the early campaigns of WWII. They can be seen prominently displayed in photos of Airborne Troops in North Africa and Sicily. This knife is in fine condition. It retains 100% of the blued finish on the blade, but this may be a well done reblue. The brass grip has an even dark bronze patina. The scabbard has both hooks intact. It retains about 10% of its blued finish, with the remainder having a brown patina. This is a fine example of the Mk.I Trench knife as issued in WWII. Stock no. 23096
