Item :	INLAND DIVISION U.S. M-1 CARBINE

Description :

This is an original, U.S. M-1 Carbine manufactured bu the Inland Division of General Motors in the third quarter of 1943. It is chambered for the U.S. .30 caliber carbine cartridge. This gun has been arsenal rebuilt and brought up to the post war standards. The front sight is marked "RIA", so the work may have been done at Rock Island Arsenal. It has been re-parkerized at least once, probably when upgraded. The carbine is in fine condition and retains nearly 100% of this gray parkerized finish. The butt plate has a few small The carbine was rebarreled when upgraded and now has an Underwood barrel. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in fine condition. It is an Inland example marked with "IH" in the sling cut. There is a large ordnance escutcheon on the left side of the butt, faint but visible. The original circled "P" firing proof is visible on the cap of the grip and there is a later "P" on the front of the grip. Included is a wartime Underwood sling and a "D" tip olive drab sling. It is the late dark green shade of OD. This is a nice Korean War era M-1 Carbine. Stock no. 2300
