WWI, GERMAN "RED 9" MAUSER C96 BROOMHANDLE PISTOL, 9MM
Description :
Here is an original, WWI, Mauser C96 Broomhandle Pistol chambered for the 9mm Parabellum cartridge. These guns were produced under German contract from 1916-1918. They are distinguished by the large, red painted number "9" carved into the grip panels and by the 50-500 meter adjustable rear sight. This pistol is in fine condition with all matching numbers. It retains about 95% of its wartime blued finish, There is a spot of finish loss on the underside of the barrel and a little wear on the high points of the slide and the magazine floorplate. The rear sight leaf mount and extractor spring retain all of their bright fire blued finish. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The grips are very fine with all of their red paint remaining. Unfortunately, there is a small spot weld in the shoulder stock slot that prevents a stock from being attached. It is small and worth having removed by a good restorer, as this is one of the nicest "Red 9" broomhandles I have had in quite some time. Stock no. 23045
