Item :	SPRINGFIELD M1-D GARAND SNIPER RIFLE W/ M84 SCOPE

Here is a U.S. M1-D Sniper Rifle chambered for the .30-06 government cartridge. Originally built in November of 1942 at Springfield Armory, this is one of the sniper rifles sold by the Director of Civilian Marksmanship starting in 1995. It is fitted with an M84 Telescopic sight, prong style flash hider, green nylon M1 sling, and a lace-on leather cheek rest. Included is a web carrying case for the scope and various rifle tools. The rifle is in very fine condition, retaining nearly all of its parkerized finish. This finish was probably redone when the rifle was rebuilt before going to the DCM. The rifle has excellent mechanics and an excellent bore. The barrel gauges just a hair over "1" at both the muzzle and throat. The unmarked, birch stock is in very fine condition. The rifle has a Springfield trigger housing, but an IHC operating rod. The very fine M84 scope is blued and has excellent, clear optics. It retains the original Department of Defense tag from its last inspection in 1969. The leather cheek rest is stamped "MRT" over "1 52". The web carrying case is in excellent condition and the tools are mostly un-issued. Stock no. 23000
