Item :	SCARCE, BSW MODEL W625B MAUSER .22 TRAINING RIFLE

Here is an original, pre-WWII, Model W625B Mauser .22 caliber training rifle manufactured by BSW (Berlin-Suhler Waffen). BSW was formerly known as Simson & Company. Jewish owned, it was seized by the Nazis, renamed, and tasked with weapons production for the Reich. The W625B Training rifle was designed to approximate the feel and function of the K98k Mauser service rifle. This rifle is in fine condition. It retains about 90% of its factory blued finish. The trigger guard and barrel band are beginning to turn a smooth light brown. The butt plate has turned brown. The bolt handle remains armory bright. The mechanics are excellent and the bore is bright and shiny. The stock is very good, with a number of small dings and scratches from use. The stock is duffel cut just ahead of the barrel band. The GI's did this to get them to fit into their barracks or duffel bags. The cut has been repaired and does not affect the operation of the gun. The rifle retains its original leather sling in very fine condition. This is a very nice example of a scarce German training rifle. Stock no. 22847
