Here is an original, P. Webley & Son Mk.III Revolver manufactured between about 1897. The Mk.III was a slightly modified version of the Mk.II with a few small internal changes and was adopted in 1897. The Mk.III is a 4" barreled, top break, double action revolver chambered for the .455 Eley cartridge. Since Webley merged with W.C. Scott in 1897 to become Webley & Scott, we can date this "P. Webley" marked example prior to that year. This revolver is in fine to very fine condition retaining about 90% of its factory blued finish. The finish on the top strap, trigger guard, and grip straps is beginning to turn brown. The underside of the barrel shows a little finish loss as well. The bore, chambers, and mechanics are excellent. The hard rubber grips are very fine to excellent with no chips or cracks. This is very nice, early Webley Revolver. Stock no. 22720
