WWII, ITHACA U.S. MODEL 1911A1 .45 AUTO PISTOL

Description :
Here is a WWII, U.S. Model 1911A1 Service Pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. Designed by John Browning and adopted in 1911, these pistols soldiered through two World Wars and are still used by members of the military today. This is a re-built pistol, possibly armory done, but there are no markings to indicate an arsenal re-build. The pistol has an Ithaca slide on a Remington-Rand frame. The pistol is in very good condition. The slide exhibits more than 90% of its factory parkerized finish. The frame, however, only has about 50% of its finish, with a speckling of brown patina overall. The pistol has a fine bore and the mechanics work well. The grips are complete, but have some small areas of worn and lightly damaged checkering. The magazine is a commercial replacement marked "COLT .45 AUTO". This is a good, serviceable .45 auto, perfect for a re-enactor or just for carrying in the truck. Stock no. 21506
