ANTIQUE, REMINGTON .41 RIMFIRE DOUBLE DERINGER

Here is an original, Remington Type II (3rd Model) Double Deringer. Manufactured in the late 1880's or early 1890's, this one is nickel plated with hard rubber grips. It is chambered for the .41 rimfire cartridge. This cartridge was grossly under powered, but the Remington Deringer was tremendously popular, with production continuing until 1935. This Remington is in very fine condition with about 95% of its factory nickel finish remaining. The finish is worn on the crown of the barrels. The hammer and trigger retain nearly all of their factory blued finish. The mechanics are excellent and the bores very fine. Both have clean, sharp rifling. The black hard rubber grips are excellent with no chips or cracks. I have examined the barrel hinge carefully and can not see any evidence of cracking. This is the consummate Old West Deringer, a favorite of gamblers and gunfighters. Stock no. 21408
