CORRECT, AS-BUILT, 1942 PRODUCTION WINCHESTER M1 GARAND RIFLE

This is a WWII, U.S. M1 Garand Rifle built By the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in the fall of 1942. This rifle retains all of its original, as-built Winchester parts. These include a Type 1 "Flush Nut" sight that predates the lock bar sight, a sealed screw front sight, an un-cut WRA type 5 op rod, and a stock with the correct "W.R.A." over "G.H.D." cartouche. This rifle is in fine condition. It retains most of its factory parkerized finish, with some wear on the high points. There is some significant scratching of the finish on the floor plate of the trigger assembly and, as usual, heavier wear on the butt plate. The bore and mechanics are excellent, with the barrel gauging "1" at the muzzle and "1" at the throat. The stock is fine as well with a few dings and scratches from use and storage. The rifle is fitted with an original, U.S. model 1907 leather sling dated "1917". Winchester Garand rifles in their original configuration are increasingly hard to find.
