SCARCE, BRITISH NO.1 MK. V ENFIELD RIFLE

This is a scarce, British No.1 Mk. V Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle produced by Enfield in 1924. The Mk. V was the first Enfield to utilize a rear aperture sight. This was thought to be superior to the sights on the Mk. III rifles. These were only produced by Enfield and production was just three years, from 1922-1924. Only about 20,000 were made and many of these were lost in WWII. They have become quite difficult to find. This one is in fine condition. The metal retains about 85-90% of its original factory finish. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock has a number of small dings from use and storage. Included is an original Pattern 1914 leather sling and a pull through cleaner in the butt trap. These are hard to find in any condition, much less one that is this nice.
