VERY FINE 1808 DATED HARPERS FERRY US MODEL 1805 FLINTLOCK PISTOL

.54 Caliber Flintlock US Martial Hand Gun. Serial Number# 1836. Fine smooth barrel is a bright brown mixture of plum patina and lacquer finish. Strong "US" proof next to the barrel SN#. Blackish gray lock has strong "Harpers/Ferry/1808" markings to the rear of the hammer and Fine "Eagle/US" in the center of the lock. Very good bore and mechanics. Mellow golden brass furniture. Fine oil finished stock with clear "V/US" cartouche at the left flat. Stock has a 1/4 inch by 2 inch slivver repair just forward of the frizzen along the barrel channel. This has been professionally repaired. Hickory ram rod has a brass button end and a iron base pierced with a cleaning slot. It may be a museum quality replacement, I can't tell. One of the most beautiful of all American Military Arms.
