.45-70 Caliber Breechloading US Martial Long Arm. SN# 413765. It is my understanding when the Military decided to go to a magazine arm that Springfield was ordered to use up the Carbine parts then on hand to send off to the State Cavalry Regiments that needed them. This Carbine is essentially a M1884 with a Buffington rear sight, (C marked), low arch breech, trap in butt, etc. etc. It has all of the latest innovations for the Trapdoors. 20-30% blue on barrel and lock. Breechblock is a deep black color. Excellent stock with sling bar and ring on the left. No cartouch on a fine oil finished stock. Excellent bore and mechanics.
