.45 Caliber Single Shot Percussion American Rifle. Circa 1850. 36 Inch octagon barrel. German silver blade front sight and buckhorn post rear sight. Barrel and tang are a bright smooth plum color. Commercial lock with most of the Golcher name in the center. Adjustable, double set triggers.
good bore and mechanics. Handsome brass mounts including oval patch box, finger loop trigger guard, stock cap and crescent butt plate. Fine figured maple stock with handsome fiddle back grain and rudimentary cheek rest. Ash ramrod appears to be original to the rifle.
