.65 Caliber Smoothbore Secondary US Martial Pistol. 7 1/2 Inch round barrel with brass blade front sight. Nice smooth gray patina. Tang decorated with bands around border. Unmarked 4 inch flat flintlock. Both lock and barrel show use with some salt and peppering on both. Frizzen has been shoed! Excellent mechanics. Fine brass furniture, highly decorated with a superb Federal Eagle raised and chased on the pommel. Furniture grade Walnut stock with high relief carving around the lock and tang. Carving on barrel tang includes 13 visible 5-pointed stars which is a neat feature. Horn or ebony stock cap at muzzle. This handsome pistol must have been the joy of some Maryland Militia Officer during the War of 1812.
