.71 Caliber Smoothbore French 18th Century Military Pistol. 7 1/2 Inch round barrel has been cleaned but still has a clear "83" date at the breech. Backstrap. ram rod and hammer and frizzen have also been cleaned to brilliant. Lock and pommel are brass and they are a nice golden color. Lock marked "St. Etienne" under the hammer and crown/F proof forward of the hammer. Simple butt stock stamped, "May/D/1783". Strong mechanics.
